Boudoir for the Holidays: A Selfie Gift Guide
The holidays get busy and I know how hard it can be to slow down. Between work, family, and everything else, most of us don’t make much time for ourselves. But if you’ve been craving a little spark of fun and confidence, this is your sign to take it.
You don’t need a studio or fancy equipment to create something beautiful. You can take a few boudoir-style selfies right at home; something playful to gift your partner, or maybe just a reminder of how good you look for yourself!
Here are a few simple ideas to help you get started:
Find the Light
Look for soft light coming in from a window, especially in the morning or late afternoon. You don’t need ring lights or flash; natural light will give you that soft, flattering glow.
Keep It Simple
Don’t overthink what you’re wearing. Grab the outfit that makes you feel the most like you. Maybe that’s a silky robe, maybe it’s one of your partner’s shirts, maybe it’s your favorite lingerie set. Bonus points for messy hair and cozy socks.
Prop Your Phone
Set your phone on a windowsill or a stack of books and use the timer setting. Move slowly, play with angles, laugh a little. If you take ten photos, at least one will make you stop and say, oh… that’s me.
Add a Little Movement
Stretch, shift your hair, pull the blanket around your shoulders. You’ll relax faster and your photos will feel more natural.
Edit or Don’t
If you want to brighten a photo, do it. If you don’t, that’s fine too. Sometimes the unedited ones, the ones that feel a little raw, end up being the favorites.
A Little Reminder
You don’t have to change a single thing about yourself to deserve to feel beautiful. Whether you keep the photos for yourself or share them as a surprise, this is your reminder that beauty doesn’t need filters, plans, or permission.
You already have it.
Happy Selfie-ing!
